Charles E. Graham, 76, of Paris, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at Spectrum Health – Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born October 19, 1936 in Reed City to Ray and Ruth (Hamilton) Graham and attended Donley school and Reed City schools. Charles was a self-employed diesel mechanic for 35 years in the Grand Rapids area and returned to the Paris area in 2001. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 – 1959. He was a member of VFW Post 830, Amvets Post 1941 of Big Rapids, American Legion Post 179 of Grandville, Eagles of Sand Lake, and Moose Lodge 705 of Reed City. Surviving are his children, Keith of Wyoming and Jennifer (Robert) VanderVeen of Jenison, his life partner and caregiver Janet Potter, sister Julia Rayburn of Chase, brother Richard (Sylvia) of Ft. Myers, FL., 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Daniel, 1 sister, Nellie Graham, and 2 brothers, William and Henry. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 2 at McDowell Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 1 p.m. until services. Burial will be in Crapo Cemetery, Paris. Memorials may be made to Amvets Post 1941, Big Rapids.
