Harold T. Blanchard, 87, of Chase, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at his home. He was born June 29, 1925 in Chase Township, Lake County, to Harrison and Effie (Schoup) Blanchard. He attended Chase school. Harold served in the U.S. Army from 1946 – 1947. He married Jo Ellen Rolston on January 6, 1951 in Chase. She survives. He had worked as a truck driver for Robbins Flooring and Van’s Lumber in Reed City, Evart Products, and at United Glass in Big Rapids for 15 years, until retiring in 1987. In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by 2 daughters; Karen (Don) Bluhm of Hersey and Terri (Dave) Pontz of Reed City, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Charles and 2 sisters, Bernice and Doris. Harold enjoyed bowling, cards, camping, hunting, fishing, and small engine repair. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27 at McDowell Funeral Home with Rev. Emmett Kadwell officiating. Burial will be in Chase Village Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
